The UK Association for Science Education (ASE) is a professional community dedicated to supporting excellence in science teaching and learning and an active membership body that has been supporting all those involved in science education.

ASE Green Tick quality assurance is carried out by ASE experts to identify areas of strength and, if found, weaknesses. The ASE Green Tick provides guidance on the suitability of a potential resource and how the materials might support teaching and learning. ASE recently evaluated one of the models of the OHAUS Guardian 3000 Hotplates & Stirrers and shared their positive feedback on its useful features, reliability and ease of use. There are three different versions available of Guardian 3000, which differ in the top plate size and material aspect. The version tested by ASE had a 7x7 inch square ceramic top plate and a housing made of cast metal, which made it “feel solid and robust”. Many useful features for all the everyday heating and stirring needs and keeping the end user safe during the applications led ASE to the opinion that  “OHAUS Guardian 3000 is a good example of how smart electronics are improving basic laboratory equipment”.
